Wednesday Evening Service, 7:00 p.m.

Wednesday service is a time to share and pray. Our Wednesday Service is called “1426”.

Why?  Because I Corinthians 14:26 says this: “What then shall we say, brothers and sisters?  When you come together, each of you has a hymn, or a word of instruction, a revelation, a tongue or an interpretation. Everything must be done so that the church may be built up.”

Paul’s plan seems to have been that everyone contribute to the gathering.  So, starting next Wednesday, this is what the service will look like:

The lights will be low and I (Sam) will be sitting at one of the tables in the church.  Anyone who shows up will join me at the table.  There we will honestly share our heart’s hurts and our hopes for healing.  Then, we will pray for each other.  Then we will share communion.  Then we will go home, having been vulnerable and opened a crack into our lives.

It is through the cracks that the light shines in.

Four rules:

• Complete Confidentiality
• Brutal Honesty
• No Giving Advice
• No Prayers or Sharing About Anyone But Yourself

Wednesday Service

Our 12:10 p.m. service is a quiet, beautiful service that provides a mid-week break from our busy lives and the opportunity to intercede for the sick among us. Those who wish to receive healing may receive the Unction of the Sick, which includes an anointing with Holy Oil by which “God’s grace is given for the healing of spirit, mind, and body,” (BCP 861). Come worship and experience the glory of God through this magnificent liturgy. You may find yourself looking forward to Wednesdays in a whole new way!
